The course
Golf courses are unique in thier make up of 18 holes and they involve walking about 4/5 miles. It is often referred to as playing a round of golf and can take between three to four hours to play.
There are also may golf courses that are made up of two 9 hole loops therefore making it an option of just playing 9 holes taking only two hours to play.

Playing a hole on the golf course starts within the red teeing area for women (1). The golf ball is elevated on a plastic or wooden tee placed in the ground by the golfer even with or behind the two tee markers. The shot is taken called a drive on longer holes.
Each hole on a golf course is different however mainly consist of water hazards (2,6) the rough (3), out of bounds (4), sand bunkers (5) the fairway (7) the putting green (8) flagstick (9) and the hole (10)
Once hit and the ball has come to rest, it is hit again in as few strokes as possible until the ball is in the hole, with each strike counting as a shot (including air shots) plus any penalty stokes.
